Nursing Programmes

Diploma and certificate pathways offered by the Department of Nursing at MBSNM.

Accredited programmes

Three nursing courses

All programmes are registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports and examined through UHPAB.

All nursing courses are fully registered under the Ministry of Education and Sports (Health Education and Training Department).

Semester examinations are conducted through the Uganda Health Professions Assessment Board (UHPAB) under assessment center number U120.

Diploma in Nursing (Direct)

Diploma in Nursing (Direct)

Comprehensive direct-entry nursing training covering clinical care, pharmacology, community health, and professional ethics.

Duration: 3 years

Entry requirements

  • Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes including English, Biology, and Mathematics
  • Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Medical fitness certificate

  • Valid Certificate in Nursing
  • Valid practicing license / registration where applicable
  • At least one year of clinical experience preferred
